Jenée Velasquez Jenee began as the first Executive Director for The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation in October of 2005. She served as Chief Executive Officer of Midland County’s economic development corporation, Midland Tomorrow, beginning in 1999. For two year prior to that, she served as Midland Tomorrow’s Manager of Economic Development Services. She was Midland’s first Downtown Development Authority Coordinator and served for five years. Prior to living in Midland, Jenée was a Group Sales Associate for the Manhattan, Kansas Convention and Visitors Bureau/Chamber of Commerce and for the National Conference Office at Kansas State University. She earned a B.S. in business administration from Kansas State University and her M.B.A. from Michigan State University. While Jenée has been active with numerous organizations, her current community activities include serving on the Delta College Foundation Board, Chair of the Brownfield Redevelopment Financing Authority, Vice President and Assistant Secretary for The Michigan Baseball Foundation, Chair of the Midland Entranceway Initiative, Secretary for MITech+ and Mid-Michigan Opportunity Center, Connect Michigan Alliance Board, Midland Health Plan Board, MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland Planning Committee, ATHENA Powerlink Governing Body, Little Forks Conservancy, Council of Michigan Foundations, Midland Area Chamber of Commerce, Midland Blooms, Midland Rotary Club, Saginaw Valley State University Board of Fellows, Midland Rotary Foundation Board, leadership Michigan, Leadership Midland Alumni and Leadership Saginaw Alumni. Recognitions include the Girl Scouts of Mitten Bay 2003 Woman of Distinction Recipient, 2002 Midland Leader of the Year, 2002 Chamber of Commerce Commonwealth Award for Innovation, 2000 ATHENA Award Recipient, Northwood University Silver Circle Recipient, Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and Midland Rotary Club Golden Goose. She is a past president of the Leadership Midland Alumni Association and Midland Rotary Club. Erin Looby Erin Looby is the co-anchor of NBC 25 News at 5, 6, and 11pm. She was nominated for a Michigan Emmy in 2006 for her coverage of a local National Guard unit training for war in Iraq. She has also won a number of awards from the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Erin is also honored to have received a best anchor award in The Saginaw News "Best of the Best" Readers Choice Awards. She was named one of the areas favorite anchors three years in row, 2004, 2005 and 2006. She was also recognized in the 2006 Interlude Tri-City Magazine "Best of the Best" Readers Choice Awards. Erin is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and is a huge Michigan football fan! When she's not working, Erin loves to spend time with her husband, Andy, and her son, Drew. She also loves to read, write, travel and run. In October of 2004 she finished her first marathon, The Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon. She spent a summer backpacking through Austria, Germany, France and Italy. Her travels have also taken her to Ireland, Spain and Belgium. A Saginaw native Erin is a graduate of Nouvel Catholic Central, and says it’s great to be working in the community she calls home! Erin is very active in the community as is a volunteer for the Child Abuse and Neglect Council, the Saginaw Public Libraries, and is a member of Saginaw’s Literacy Council Board of Directors. She also enjoys to volunteer her time to support the Miss America Organization, and is looking forward to her involvement with the Junior League of the Saginaw Valley! Mitch Reno
Mitch is chief marketing and sales officer for The Rehmann Group and has offices in Saginaw and Troy. He is responsible for marketing direction, sales management, brand building and practice growth strategies. Mitch brings more than 15 years of strategic planning, marketing, sales management, advertising, public relations, special event and communications experience with him to his role as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. Mitch’s career began at the Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce/Convention and Visitors Bureau as sales manager and magazine editor. For eight years, he worked as marketing and advertising manager at Amigo Mobility International, Inc., a manufacturer and international distributor of home health care equipment. Mitch worked for Michigan Sugar Company, a subsidiary of Imperial Sugar Company, as manager of corporate communications, directing internal and external brand strategy as well as communication and promotional programs. In June of 2006, Mitch was named Accounting Marketer of the Year by the CPA Practice Management Forum and the Association of Accounting Marketing. In addition, is teams have been recognized with more than a dozen national awards for marketing, branding and promotional programming. Mitch holds a Master of Arts in advertising and public relations from Michigan State University. His undergraduate work in business, communications and psychology was completed at the University of Michigan. Mitch belongs to the following professional organizations; the Association of Accounting, Saginaw Art Museum, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, Advisor/Facilitator Saginaw Community Enrichment Commission, and Saginaw Community Foundation. Mari McKenzie, CPA Mari McKenzie’s love of math, science and sports prepared her well for the accounting profession. She joined Yeo & Yeo, P.C. Certified Public Accountants in 1977. She is an auditing and assurance specialist with over 30 years of experience in school, not-for-profit, school and governmental unit auditing. She leads Yeo & Yeo's Audit team. She is the firm's Director of Quality Control and the Director of Training. In addition to auditing, Mari provides consulting services to several not-for-profit entities. She was a board member of the Underground Railroad, a domestic violence shelter for over 20 years. Regina Turner Regina Turner has been the executive director at Bay Area Women’s Center since January, 2006. BAWC is a domestic violence/sexual assault shelter and counseling center located in Bay City. She has 10-year background working for non-profit agencies in the capacity of business manager, grant writer, development director or director. More importantly, Regina grew up with a father who instilled in his child a commitment to service, and she has served as a volunteer in whatever community she has lived since she was 12. Her two children, Kathryn (25) and Andrew (21) live in Nashville and Atlanta, respectively. Regina and her husband Leo Najar moved to Bay City from Atlanta, Georgia in 2003, where they happily live with their six cats. David J. Klippert
David J. Klippert is an equity member with the firm Braun Kendrick Finkbeiier P.L.C. His practice areas include business commercial transactions, tax litigation, condemnation, real estate, estate planning, probate, and health care law. Dave graduated from Michigan State University in 1992 with a B.A. in Business Administration. He attended law school at the University of Detroit Mercy, receiving his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in May of 1996. He was admitted to practice law in Michigan in the same year. Professional affiliations include memberships in the State Bar of Michigan (including membership in the following sections: Business law, Probate and Estate Planning, and Real Property), the Saginaw County and Bay County Bar Associations, and the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, of which Dave is a current member of the Board of Directors. Dave is admitted to practice in all state courts in Michigan, the United States District Courts in Michigan (Eastern and Western Districts), and the United States Tax Court. Dave is also involved in the Community and is a graduate of Leadership Saginaw, which is organized by the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. Dave has served as a member of the Board of Directors of a number of non-profit organizations, including Junior Achievement of Northeast Michigan Inc., and the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County. In addition, he is a frequent lecturer on estate planning and probate topics. Dave was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, where he currently lives with his wife and two children.
